How to make BLACK-EYED PEA SOUP

Black-eyed peas are popular around the New Year because they're considered to be a lucky food.  Not only are they good for you with their protein and fiber, they're delicious!

Black-eyed peas Onion Green bell pepper Celery Garlic  Allspice Bay leaves Poultry seasoning  Arbol Chiles Vegan beef broth

Ingredients:

Here's what you need to make this soup!

Chef's knife Cutting board Wooden spoon Large pot Ladle Mortar & pestle

Here's the equipment you will need:

Preheat a large soup pot on medium heat, add coconut oil, onion, green bell pepper, celery, garlic, and sea salt and saute for 7 minutes, stirring occasionally. 

Step 1

Stir in bay leaves, poultry seasoning, and  allspice. Saute for 2 more minutes, stirring frequently.

 Step 2

RESPLENDENT KITCHEN

Add broth, black eyed peas and Arbol chiles; bring to a boil and simmer for 20 to  30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 3

RESPLENDENT KITCHEN

Remove bay leaves. Stir in kale, if using.  Chop Arbol chiles and stir in before serving.  Enjoy with my my incredibly easy and delicious skillet cornbread!
