Cherry Compote

Try making this delicious homemade cherry compote!  It's a great way to use up  any leftover cherries you may have.

Cherries Sugar Lemon Juice Water

Ingredients:

Add the cherries, sugar, and water to a heavy, wide saucepan and cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves; the cherries soften, and release their juices.  Stir occasionally.

Step 1

Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice. Taste and adjust lemon juice and sugar if needed.

Step 2

Allow the cherry compote to cool before transferring it to a clean glass jar. Store in the fridge for up to 1 week.

Step 3

RESPLENDENT KITCHEN

Be careful not to add too much water since the cherries release cherry  juice as they cook. Stir occasionally while cooking, being careful not  to crush the cherries.
